PRESIDENT’S REPORT FOR 2016

2016 was another great year for INNC, with 50% of our eligible teams qualifying for finals.

The outcome of the finals were;

4th position

Tigers - Intermediate Division 5

3rd position

Snow Leopards - Intermediate Division 3

Pink Panthers - Intermediate Division 8

2nd position

Meerkats - Junior Division 5

Jungle Cats - Intermediate Division 6

Jaguars - Seniors Division 4

1st & Premiers

Panthers - Seniors Division 2

Lynx - Seniors Division 3

The club was invited to attend a Darters game as the cheer squad, which everyone enjoyed immensely, we held a very successful Mother’s Day Stall, and BBQ at Lyneham courts to help raise funds for the club, we introduced some much needed winter non-compulsory player and spectator items, and this year the club also introduced and awarded our first ‘Life Membership’ trophy.

The 18 members who played at Junior Representative and State League level were a credit to themselves and I am proud to say they play for INNC. We had two teams eligible to play in the 2016 ACT & District Championships. Our Panthers team, Senior Division 2 were unfortunately unable to attend the competition however our Seniors Division 3 team, the Lynx, came out victorious and are now the 2016 champions.

The club’s two End of Season Presentation events were a great success with an increase in numbers for both events. The return to a picnic format for the younger players proved to be well received with 130 people attending. Our more formalised dinner for the Intermediate, Cadet and Seniors was also well-attended with 84 enjoying the great atmosphere and excellent meals.

2016 is going to be a hard year to beat but as the returning president I look forward to working with the committee for 2017 to help INNC grow to an even stronger club in the future.

President

Katherine Bedford
